Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about going solar.

How much does a solar system cost?

Costs vary significantly depending on the size of your home, your energy usage, and the type of system you choose (grid-tied, hybrid, or off-grid). We offer tailored quotes after an onsite assessment has been completed, to ensure you get the best value for your specific needs.

How long does installation take?

Most residential installations are completed within 1-2 days. Larger commercial projects may take longer, but we always strive to minimize disruption to your daily routine.

Do I still need to pay the electricity utility company?

If you install a grid-tied or hybrid system, you will likely remain connected to the grid and may pay a connection fee or for any grid power you use at night (if you don't have batteries). However, your overall bill will drop significantly.

What happens during a power outage (load shedding)?

Standard grid-tied inverters shut down during outages for safety. However, our hybrid systems with battery storage will seamlessly take over, keeping your essential appliances running during load shedding.

Is financing available?

Yes, financing options are available through our financial partners to make going solar affordable for everyone.

Do you offer a free onsite assessment?

Yes, onsite assessments within a 50km radius from Benoni, Gauteng will be offered free of charge. Any distance further than the 50km radius will be billable, but the assessment cost will be deducted from the solar installation cost upon quote acceptance. Regional and National Onsite Assessments are available on request. To see if you qualify for a free onsite assessment, please click here.

What maintenance is required?

Solar systems are generally low maintenance. Panels may need occasional cleaning to remove dust or debris, and we recommend an annual solar system inspection to ensure optimal performance.
